Realize easily your Backup in virtual Environment to LTO Tape Libraries

The use of the iSCSI protocol over 10Gb Ethernet provides a simple and cost-effective solution for managing and operating LTO-Tape Libraries directly in the data centre or separately in a remotely installed IT Rack. The actidata T-Pontis 10GbE iSCSI bridge offers the necessary performance and features running LTO-Tape Drives. With two 10Gb optical Ethernet interfaces, up to four LTO drives can be operated by a dedicated backup & archive server or virtual via iSCSI by a virtual machine (VM). Thanks to iSCSI, the actidata T-Pontis 1U-Bi Bridge operates independently of the centralized operating system and is controlled directly by an iSCSI-Initiator.

Front placed Display

Clearly presented. On the front of the actidata T-Pontis 1U, it is easy to find IP addresses of the 10Gb Ethernet interfaces. This simplifies integration into existing networks and integration of storage targets. Since environmental conditions must always be taken into account for the operation of LTO streamers and LTO tape libraries, the current temperature and humidity in the vicinity of the actidata T-Pontis 1U are also conveniently displayed. Switching on and off is also carried out on the front, with the illuminated button also showing the operating status.

Backup & Archive to LTO-Tapes via 10Gb-Ethernet

Regardless of the operating system, the actidata T-Pontis 1U-Bi is controlled via the iSCSI initiator of the server operating system and thus supports almost all common backup and archive software manufacturers.
