actidata T-Pontis® iSCSI Bridge to LTO Tape Drive or LTO Tape Automation
The use of the iSCSI protocol over 10Gb Ethernet provides a simple and cost-effective solution for managing and operating LTO tape libraries both directly in the data center or in a remotely installed IT rack. The actidata T-Pontis 10GbE iSCSI bridge offers the necessary performance features here. With two 10Gb optical Ethernet interfaces, up to four LTO drives can be operated both from a dedicated backup & archive server as well as virtually from a virtual machine (VM). Thanks to iSCSI, the actidata T-Pontis 1U-Bi operates independently of central operating systems and is controlled directly via an iSCSI initiator.

As a unique solution platform for data backup, the new actidata Ti-NAS RT as a Tape-in-NAS system is available. actidata consistently relies on selected and proven server components and combines a Network Attached Storage System (NAS) with an LTO Tape Drive in a 2U rackmount chassie . Thanks to the two optical 10Gb/s Ethernet interfaces, the Windows Server IoT for Storage CAL-free based platform can be easily integrated into company networks and operates with a server rack or in a separate fire section. Deployed as an open platform, any Windows Server compatible backup software that supports LTO Tape Drives can be installed.
